This delightful young pup was born into a beautiful litter to our Eva (Shiningdawn Hearts Entwinded) and the stunning Brew (Aust Supreme Ch Fantango One for the Road AI).

The quality of this litter was very evident from an early age and so it was with much gratitude that I was offered and accepted the opportunity to follow Alfies development into maturity and have him return to my care at Elljoa for a few days of assessment and hereditary testing at 12 months of age with the possible option to bring him into my breeding program.

Well Alfie was a pleasure to have at our home for those few days and whilst his presence was desperately missed by Deb and Justin, Alfie took it all in his stride, he settled in with us like he had been here all his life, he loved to be on the grooming table, he loved his walks and he proved himself to be a well mannered and enthusiastic young dog who embraced everyone and everything we did together.

Alfie has matured into a wonderful adult dog, both in conformation and temperament, he is well grounded and confident, the perfect example of an Elljoa Golden Retriever.
He is a much loved family dog that has been raised and trained with the most dedicated family and so it was the best news a few weeks later that I was able to share with them that all his hereditary test results had come back very favourable and that between us we were confidently able to declare Elljoa Its All About Alfie a proud future ambassador for Elljoa Kennels.
Brief bio from his family
Alfie- from the day we picked him up has been such a happy, confident and playful boy. He was an active and energetic puppy, loved "chasies" and tug toys (and still does) but didn't chase a ball (and still doesnt!). He's always slept through the night.
He has always enjoyed learning and was often selected to demonstrate at puppy school! He continues with obedience training at dog school and though mostly wants to be friends with the other dogs, also learns the essentials.
He loves being around his people and adores meeting other people and dogs. He's a social soul but also needs time to recharge his batteries.
He meets life with joy and enthusiasm and loves exploring. Despite his confidence and enthusiasm for life- his kennel nickname of Mr Manners applies- he always somehow knows just when to be extra gentle- with small kids, the elderly or people with disabilities. He also tends to make himself small when he meets small dogs- he’s a gentle soul. That being said- though he has never been a vocal dog, if he hears something unusual, he has a deep adult bark that he uses occasionally if needed, which we find reassuring.
We feel so lucky to have Alfie in our lives - he's our joy, part of our family and a delight to have in our home.
